School’s been out but we haven’t! This summer Romancing the Stones has been busy with the Team Serious Invitational in Ohio, The Land Run in Oklahoma, RTS42 in Austin, and the School’s Out Forever league on the internet. For that last bit we had a solid 38 guys playing Middle School.

/assets/images/2026-05-22/Top 8 Prizes.jpg One of our 2026 goals was to update our tired old RTS stamp with league-specific stamps. Tweedy, the man behind our graphics work, delivered: our participation cards and Top 8 prizes were all stamped with a fresh new look. Tweedy himself even donated the Apocalypse Painlands for the prize pool!

By now it’s a given that the field would be a diverse selection of colors and strategies. However, the top performers have been turning blue: much like the Dance Party, the Top 8 skewed heavily towards Islands, with 75% of the decks playing blue.

On that note, the Top 8 was also stacked! Our roster included a North American Legacy Champion, two Romancing the Stones Invitational Champions, The Land Run Legacy winner, and a Lobstercon Top 8er. With the help of Psychatog and Weathered Wayfarer, Brian Tweedy slogged through all of that for his second lifetime School’s Out league win. Welcome to the Invitational, Tweedy, and enjoy drafting back some of the prizes you donated!

The league got us so excited that by the time this report goes live, we’ll likely already have announced a special treat: Summer School is back!
