Our old TO Stu was in town for spring break. He’s been missing Vintage and our scene, so he put together RT41 at one of his favorite venues, Kinda Tropical. The weather was a little sketchy, and the event overlapped with the BCDL in Houston, but we had a great crew of 12 players come out.

In what was a new experience for us, RTS mainstay Ryan Bartley got in touch with Stephen Daniele, who lives just north of Austin! Stephen came and hung out at KT for the day, signing cards and shooting the shit. It was the first time he’d done a Magic signing in years, and he was the man. He even graciously marked up a foil Stroke of Genius for 1st place!

On top of that, Rob Connolly brought an amazing Lotus trophy! He’s been experimenting with all types of printings and engravings that we’re excited to have.

Unsurprisingly, Lurrus was looking strong. We had a dramatic mirror in the finals, but Paul’s cats, frogs, and orcs were just a little more powerful than Ian’s and he earned himself a spot at the Invitational – along with a hot Stroke of Genius. Congrats, Paul!

Our spring/summer calendar isn’t fully ironed out, but we’re expecting the School’s Out MS league to kick off in May. After that, the next Vintage will either be RTS42 locally, or the Hurricane in a few months!
